DROP EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!

Unpopular opinion...but I feel doughnuts are going the way of coffee...give me a classic Krispy Kreme 'hot n ready now' glazed any day of the week. I could eat a dozen of those in 5 minutes easily, otherwise, not a big fan of doughnuts. Also, I'm sure there will be some rage that Britt's Doughnuts in Carolina Beach isn't on that list.

Same. Cake doughnuts do nothing for me. A dozen krispy kreme glazed and I'm good to go.

Personally, I haven't met a donut I don't like. I don't discriminate.

I mean...it doesn't mean I don't eat them if they're sitting there on the table. I just wouldn't make the effort to go get them...similar to crappy booze, I'm not gonna buy it...but I'll drink it if it's free. Otherwise, you're just being rude.

I've been to half those places and the other half don't seem worth the trip. Also there are others I'd rather have that aren't on the list.

Hot Krispy creme for the win. There’s a bunch of fancy doughnut shops around the Asheville area that don’t do anything for me. There is a local bakery that has a cinnamon bun that’s huge and awesome called Whisk.

My issue with Krispy Kreme is that I LOVE hot ones, but typically the only time I pass a KK with the hot light on is late at night and the sugar high I get off of them keeps me up. Old person problems.....

Donut Life in Hickory doesnt do cake donuts. Their glazed is a bigger version of KK. Maple Bacon is the most popular, but Im not really a fan. If you like filled donuts, they have a handful of jellies and cremes and fill when you order, can even do a mixture. The apple fritter is legit, and wife really likes the oreo.

Another good one is Granny's Old Fasion Donuts. Just glazed, but easily the size of 5-6 KKs.

In general KK all day any day.
But I would (and have) drive to Carolina Beach from Winston Salem just to get Britts Donuts.

The fact that Britts isn't on that list makes it bogus!

Peanut butter donut from Hole Lotta in West Jefferson works for me.
Anyone tried that place in Salisbury from the article? Will be near there Saturday, may have to check it out.
