How's everyone's weekend going? I was curious if anyone on here has any appliance repair experience? I have a Kenmore 400 dryer and it takes at least 2 or 3 times to dry a load of clothes, is it repairable or time to scrap it? Thanks for any advice.

My dryer started doing the same thing awhile back, I took of the back panel cleaned all the contacts the wires go to cleaned out the exhaust vent and it has worked every since. Could be something simple as a thermal fuse takes only a couple mins to take them off and check em or get them checked.

Most are stupid cheap to fix. I've fixed mine several times. My wife hates me. She wants a new one. :D

If I wasn't in construction, I'd be in the used appliance repair and resell biz. Most will pay to have them removed and they can usually be fixed for less than $50 and then resold for $250+.

And new ones don't work for shit.

If the vent isnt clogged then Id bet on your coil either being burned up or partially shorted.

Assuming its an electric dryer.

If you take it apart you will see a long coil in a ring formation behind the drum. You ccan get a replacement usually for ~$40 or less.
Its plug and play from there.

And, as someone else recently found out, check your breakers. It will run on 120, but want dry. Heating element takes 220. Most if not all dryers, are on a double breaker.
