A friend of mine is considering coming to URE with me and some friends and he wanted to know if his AMG 6x6 would do alright up there or would it be a waste of his time?

i have seen plenty offullsized vehicles up there, but that might be pushing it. I have wheeled with a unimog up there, but it was short. Anything that wide and much longer might be too much.

Def some spots that will be pretty tight.
I guess the question is, how does he feel about rubbing fenders?
Obviously getting stuck (high centered, unable to pass an obstacle) is not an issue; however making around soem of the tight turns might be.
Definitely won't have the ATVs whipping around him, lol.

and the off chance he happens to flop it, whose gonna get it back upright ? It happens

theres a guy on here thats takes his duece.

lol, well, a guess everyone on here takes a duece.

It might work, but I'm not sure how much fun he would have. I've taken a Mog there but being a short wheel base and having power steering, it wasn't a big deal. A duece is quite a bit bigger (width and height) with less articulation.

BWB did it in his bob'd deuce a couple years ago, mostly in 2wd to boot (TC goofing up).

I'll drag up some pics in a bit.

here they are:

wow that duece looks nice like that, never seen one short like that. ANd damn, taking it on a flatbed....shit i would have to drive mine, that and the lack of power steering are ultimately what's keeping me from taking it. I forgot about some of those tight turns up there, and after spending all today driving it i think it would be a pain in the butt.....but who knows i may change my mind in the future

IMHO If you ain't gonna take it to URE, every other decent trail will lend the same excuse.
I say take it, and enjoy the gawks!

why did I think this guy was banned?

I think there are plenty of tight spots for a deuce n 1/2 but I think its do-able. I'd like to see one go up dutch john. Don't know about some of the trees on daniel. One goin up could be a problem and a few turns on the backside of daniel could be hairy too. He'd be golden goin with someone used to driving an oversize at URE. Ironic I call my Power Wagon "the trail whale".

if i get a plate on it in time and finish the conversion for bio diesel/veggie oil then its going, just not on daniel

yeah, I'm thinking aboyt that SHARP right turn not far from the bottom (far end of daniel, everybody else has to do 3+ point turn, can't imagine it there :driver:
Not to mention the tight tree squeeze right before it (if going down)

This turn?

not the best shot of it, lol, but thats the other side of the turn to the left of the white truck! i dont even think a duece could fit in the turn around slot on the side of the hill!

you can continue straight at the turn down the hill and it opens up. Probably could do a uturn there....have to walk down a see and there is the spot at the turn where people has tried to climb up, pretty big area

at that 3 point turn, you're saying go straight and turn around down there?

I had a good time with my shorty deuce up there, but I couldnt imagine taking a full grown one. And my arms were like Jello at the end of the day.
