How do you get the rotors off of a vehicle with unit bearings? My fiance's escape needs new rotors and I figured you just unbolt that huge 1.5 inch nut in the middle of the rotor and slide them off. After I removed the bolt the rotors are still completely unmovable. I cant see any other bolts holding them on or anything so Im pretty much stuck. Any help is very much appreciated.

at least on a TJ, the unit bearings have nothing to do with the rotors...

might just need a deadblow hammer or rubber mallet...

A deadblow may not be enough, I keep a 5lb sledge for such work. But first, make sure the caliper and brackets are out of the way.

On mine there are bolts on the backside of the unit that hold the unit bearing to the axle flange. The rotor and unit bearing are a press fit.

Cool thanks Ill try pressing out the bearing tonight. Is there any special tools or jigs or anything Im going to need?
