Dumb question…. Roll cage bend

Is there a safe way to reduce some of the bend in a roll cage tube? This was from a kit that’s perfect every other way…except the C hoop dips too closely to the rear seat. (Read - unsafe to use the rear seat due to banging head!)

Vehicle - 1970 Ford Bronco

I’m willing and prepared to rebend a new tube…just asking before taking it apart to buy and bend a new one.
 
Hey guys. Appreciate it. I’ll get some better pics once I’m home but that’ll be a couple weeks. I’m fully prepared to bend another tube.

Mike from Extreme Custom bent the cage for me - he’s a freaking awesome guy!! I’m looking to modify his design for better usability of the rear seat.

@jeepinmatt that’s exactly what I want to replace or reshape. What you can see is that there’s a short, vertical section leading to the inward bend. I’ll get some pics when I get home.

I have a small hydraulic tune bender that will bend 1.75” od without trouble.

I assume the short vertical section looks something like the black lines, and you want to position it something like the green lines, where the C hoop is just 8-12" further back and more vertically oriented. If you move it back, but keep the top plane level, changing the angle of the C-hoop will shorten the legs like I have them perfectly illustrated in impeccable scale in Manucad below.

As you can see, once you bring them back, they will be too long, so you will have to cut them to match the mounting plate (level black line), so you wouldn't need to rebend, just would need to cut the tubes at an angle to match.

Perfect solution! I’ll cut, grind and weld once my life settles. Thank you for the idea - hadn’t even considered that direction.
