I am Planning on bedlinine the interior of my 1998 Jeep Cherokee. I have already purchased a Duplicolor Bedliner Do-It-Yourself Roll on kit, but will be doing all this the first week of summer, so I'm planning ahead. To me it seems the only difference is price, about $40 between the two. I have seen Duplicolor used on XTREME 4x4. I was just wondering which do you guys prefer?

I would suggest that you use the one that goes on smooth, I have a liner in my TJ and its rough which is tough to clean and hard on you if you bump it.

I rolled mine on and it worked good for what it is, I used a DIY self installation kit that was givin to me so I could demo it for a company that was going to start making it and they needed testers. Mine was water based which meant no fumes and easy clean up (During the install). Mine has almost a sand paper type finish, Because of the grit that is added, Which is great for a truck bed.

i used the duplicolor and i am not to please with it. its smoother than burrells is but mine chips really easy but i think it is more my fault than anything else make sure you prep it right prep is key if you dont youll have alot of problems but if it where up to me id do the one burrell did but thats just me

Yep it is real important to prep it properly

Herucliner wins the debate

Well I've decided to use Herucliner Bedliner for the interior of my '98 Cherokee. It costs a little more but I only want to do this once, and have it last for a long time. One question:

1. Will the scuffing pad suffice for the prep?

I plan on scuffing the floor nicely, then cleaning with an ammonia based cleaner, before and after scuffing. Then I'm going to lay it all down. Make my Jeep ROCK SOLID. By the way I'm doing this the first week of summer because I'm a high school student and have exams and the SAT coming up. Just trying to get all the materials ahead of time and all the info too, my motto is DO it once, DO it right. I'm going to spend like 10 mintues tommorow and head to Advanced Auto Parts and return the Duplicolor and buy the Herucliner instead. :bounce2:

Herculiner has always given me good results

yes a scuff pad will work. i used ~300 grit to get all the clear off, then ~60 grit and put a cross hatch pattern in what was left. worked good.

Good choice. I've got a trailer that has duplicolor and it has chips all over it. I'm probably going to go back over it at some point.

years ago I used Herculiner when it first kind of came on the scene. Besides directly under my feet it is still on the floor and looks good for a beaten trail rig. I'm getting ready to do the bed of my truck with it. I can't afford $500 spray in job.

i like your truck thats what im lookin at gettin but i cant find a cummins 4x4 in a manual thats not beat to crap

and i have herculiner on just the back tub of my jeep and it take a pretty good beating, and no chips or crack so far

thanks man, thats good to hear. they are definitly hard to come by, especially if you're looking locally. it took me a while to find this one. craigslist is a good place to look.
