durabak

I am working on a project, actually my jon boat... but i bought some polyurethane durabak paint to put on it. It is an aluminum boat, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with durabak and aluminum. Whether I whould paint on top of the old paint? Strip it down to the aluminum and paint it? If I should do anything to the aluminum before painting it? Should I prime it? etc... Any help would be nice. Thanks

We painted my dad's alum G3 front deck with durabak.

First time didnt go so well, we then used an aluminum "etching" primer and then re applied over that it its holding up well....
