I need help I got a Chevy 2500 duramax the rear axle shaft broke and bent the axle tube or the spindle the hub goes on is there any way to fix this or will it need a whole new housing any help would be great

It's probably the spindle that's bent if anything. Apparently, it's not that hard to bend one on an 11.5. It'd be easier to swap in a new axle more than likely.

Usually it's the carriers that blow up. They don't take torque very well.

If it broke a shaft and it has a Gov-Lock in it, it probably crapped the bed too.

If you "bell'd" the end of the spindle, which is common when ends of axles break, there are guys that will come out and replace a spindle tube on an axle. Not cheap, but prob less than a complete axle assembly!

But as C_K said above, might have destroyed the Gov-Lok as well, so I would get that chk'd before I spent any more $$ on that axle!
