It was good to go somewhere different. Plenty of trails to ride that are not difficult. All the hard trails were steep. Very few rocks. It all depends on what you want to do. I probably won't get back there right away but I'd be a regular if I lived near it.

It'd be a killer place for a SxS.

Edit- I assume you mean Tellico and not the plantation.

It's a 5 hour tow for me and I plan on returning as often as I can. The next closest place is Harlan with anything decent and that is a 7 - 8 hour tow. There are plenty of easy moderate trails and some very difficult trails that are steep climbs. I did find a rock garden on Rocky Road but the exit looks very slick right now. There is a new loop on the cold spring gap property with two climbs up the side of a mountain and a rock garden between them. However when I was there last the rock garden still needed trees cut out of it. IMHO if it's visited and wheeled it will get a whole lot better, ie rocky, because most of it is covered with dirt still.

I went there a few years back when it was Snowbird and members only. Then we went last year and the difference was astonishing for the little bit of traffic that had been on the trails. I think it will get really good with some more wear.

When we were there the first time, we didn't see a rock other than the bowl area and parking lot.

Myself, @GONOVRIT and another buddy rode there earlier this year. Mine was the least equipped rig there with my crappy sticky Treps, V8 power and good suspension...
We all pulled cable, we all nearly rolled, we all gave it absolute all our rigs had and we all plan to go back soon.

It's a great place to ride all day on easy trails and sight see. Or to go hit some nasty obstacles and enjoy a challenge.

How many trails would you go on with a DD locked TJ on 35's?

Is it worth the drive from Charlotte if you want a challenge not sightseeing trail's?

That is too much of an opinion for me to reply. We explored the better part of a full day and didn't see the whole place. I'm looking forward to going back when I can fit it in my wheeling schedule. Fwiw I wheel a buggy on 39's and rear steer.

Keep in mind they also have camping. Yes it is primitive but the locations right next to the creek are fantastic. Plenty of trout fishing when you're not wheeling.

I drove my dd tacoma on 33s up there when I had open diffs and still had a lot of fun.. I only did 2 black diamond trails and had issues on both.. rest of our time was spent running scenic trails and we didn't even run all of those.. Everything was pretty much dirt covered then and that was a year ago almost.. I'm sure more rock is exposed now.

Ok, so to add it would not be a trip just to there. We are going camping at deep creek, and the kids want to tube and play in the river. It was a thought to drive 1.5 hour from the camp site to the trail, ride a few hours then 1.5 back to camp.....still worth it??

Yes the plane crash is interesting.

The Buzzard's Roost Overlook is beautiful in my opinion:

Mulky Fall's is nice and cool:

The kids in our group played in it.

I will go back I just hope I can get some guys to go with me that can get on the harder trails. Both times I've gone it's been to "scout" the park to see if NAXJA could hold an event there. I think they or any group could. It may not be your cup of tea but you should at least check it out and take lots of pictures and let us know what you liked and did not like.

Ok....it's the price that kills me!! I pay $30 for the ability to ride URE 24/7 for the entire season! this place will cost me $50 for one day and they say it closes at 9pm......I just don't know.....thanks for all the input, I think I will wait and plan a trip there and camp there and ride both sat and sunday and "get my $ worth"!!

I will definitely check it out, it just sounds like the best use of time and money is to plan a dedicated trip there...

What's the minimum vehicle requirements for just the "sight seeing" trails. Looks like a cool place to just go do some casual cruising

I had a buddy in a bone stock tacoma go all the way to the bowl it's basically a forest rode that go's right through the park

We had a completely stock JKU with us last time. First time I went was in an open diff xj on 31s. Both were fine for sight seeing.

Same trip me, Gillis and a few others climbed (or attempted) the rock slab obstacle? Fun trip. The scenery was awesome.
