so i baught a 87 cherokee and the drivers frunt wheel bearing is bad :(. i found some unit bearings on ebay for $35 each which seems like a deal but i wanted to know if anyone has used these? Are they any good?

i have been running one on the front of my 3500 dodge for a few years now and a friend has them on 2 of his acura's so far so good.
i figured the $300 savings for mine was worth the try and i think the seller was michagan bearings but i could be wrong its been a while.

I've got em on the front of my wrangler also. All came with the same year warrantee reguardless of who sold it and visually looked the same. You can opt. for name brand but even then how long they last is a crap shot. I had a front axleshaft universal joint to fail at 50,000 miles because of no lube in a cup from the factory.... it was a Spicer brand joint.

i've had 2 bad experiences with the off-brand chinese made bearings, i'm happy to pay for the better stuff for piece of mind and not paying for the rollback when one does go bad...

Im running one on my XJ. I have 36-12.50 TSL and it has held up and i beat the crap out of this Jeep.

From what I'm told the leading cause of failure in unit bearings is making sure the axle nut is tight. As long as you get it tight enough then ebay unit bearings should be just fine
