As racers diligently prepare for the 2014 race season, the East Coast Offroad Racing Series makes preparations for a successful season for 2014 and beyond with new ownership and management, guided by both Travis Wilson and Meghan Heath of Dayton, TN based Wilson Performance. This transition brings new life, passion, dedication, service, and a bright future for ECORS. Both Travis and Meghan have a passion for the sport as they operate an off-road custom fabrication business; and for anyone that knows them, knows they have an even greater passion for racing.

Travis has many years of successful racing under his belt involving a vast number of sanctioning bodies, including different types of racing. From behind the wheel, to in the pits, Travis' history, knowledge, and experiences with racing will be a huge asset to ECORS. In addition, with Travis owning and managing a successful small business for more than 6 years, he has the understanding of business operations and a commitment to great customer service to make ECORS grow and be successful!

While Meghan may be a new name and face to the public, she is well experienced and successful in off-roading and racing. Meghan has been race team manager and an integral part of the successful Wilson Performance Racing team. Behind every great driver is a competent and successful team manager; Meghan brings this passion for the sport and success as manager of Wilson Performance Racing to ECORS.

Travis and Meghan are very excited about this new opportunity and have new ideas for the continued success of ECORS and have the drive to expand and grow the Series into the premier off-road race Series on the east coast and beyond. The new management team has big plans for ECORS for 2014 and beyond. With the new ideas Travis and Meghan have for ECORS as well as their dedication and wonderful customer service, racers, sponsors, and spectators can expect to have a great time and a wonderful experience!

Team ECORS

Interesting. Are all of the venues and dates still the same for 2014?

Good Luck, Travis!
Great and capable guy at the helm for sure.

As far as I know, everything will remain the same for 2014. But, Travis is welcome to make changes as he needs for his ideas and plans.

Haha so out of R3... how many R's are left? None? So ECORS is now operated by R0?
Best of luck to Travis and Meghan, I'm sure they will carry the torch proudly.

I'll be around a little to help with the transition but once Travis and Meghan have the reigns and are comfortable, ECORS will be 100% them; my only involvement will be that I may stop by some of the races in the future as a spectator or volunteer.

As with any of us, our lives change; mine is no different and it has changed as well (all for the better). When Ron and I started ECORS back in 2009, I didn't have kids and didn't work out of town. Now, I'm working out of town during the week and have twin 3 year old girls (will be 4 in June); work and the family is starting to demand more and more of my free time and my priorities have changed and evolved over the last several years. Rather than deprive work and family of their much needed attention and me of any less sleep than I already get, I've decided to pass the ECORS torch on to a management team that can take what has been developed and make it much better. Its no secret that I've been stretched thin with time last season; Meghan and Travis can now take the reigns and invest the much needed time into the Series and work together to take ECORS to the next level.

I've been very, very busy, especially last season (and it showed). My dedication and full commitment to ECORS didn't change but the required amount of time involved nearly quadrupled from previous years. With me working on ECORS solo, my work load doubled and with more races on the 2013 schedule, the work load increased even more. For 2014, there was no way that I could put in the time to serve the racers as they needed, expected, and deserved. This was not fair for the racers. I want to see ECORS grow and be successful; with the amount of time I had available, there is no way I could do that by myself for 2014.

With Travis and Meghan at the wheel, they can deliver what the racers deserve and they have the drive and ability to deliver great customer service to racers, spectators, and sponsors (something that I couldn't completely do with my limited time). They are a great team and have the passion for racing and have their heart in the sport. ECORS is now set up for success and exponential growth for 2014 and years to come. If anyone can take it to the next level, Travis and Meghan can.

If anyone is new to racing, was out for 2014, or on the fence about racing, I encourage you to make the commitment for 2014 as you won't be disappointed. From the minute I talked to Travis about this opportunity, he had multiple ideas for the Series and I'm sure he and Meghan have many, many more.

I wish good luck to Travis and Meghan; however, its mostly in gesture only as there is no luck needed for a management team that is more than capable. I wish them well for 2014 and the future of ECORS and will do all I can to support them, the racers, and the Series. Who knows, you may even see me at a couple of races as I'll never be able to curb my passion for racing.

:)

Hate to see you go but I believe you are right about Travis and team, I know first hand how much they have and will do for other racers in there time of need so I too wish them best of luck and can't wait to see what they bring to the series.

Rob
so does this mean we might see you at some meetings(which have changed to the second TUESDAY of the month) and purchasing a cherokee on the cheap to build something for you and the twins?

I may be at some more of the meetings now.

I do already have a Series IIA Land Rover 109 (4 door) which I'm slowly building for the wife and kids. Has a LM7, 700R4, Dana 300 and hopefully some D44 axles if I can ever get time to pick them up :)
