I am looking to replace the heavy, horsepower draining, belt driven fan with a lighter, electric style. Anyone know what brand of electric fan will be the right style and fit for my J-10 w/360?
A lot of f150 and full size bronco guys with 351 to 460 ci engines are running lincoln mark VIII fans they are similar to the taurus fans but a little bigger and pull more airflow. Search for that swap over at fullsizebronco.com. Be careful if you decide to use a universal fan. Compare the cfm rating cause a lot of the cheaper ones actually dont flow that well and can cause overheating.
You may need to upgrade the alternator too if your still running the stock one. It may be 45-60 amps but a taurus fan can pull 40-60 on high and the mark 8 fans can pull a little more than that. Thats why the taurus and mark 8's came with 130 amp alternators.
