I want to pitch the clutch fan on my cruiser and install an electric one. What is a good junkyard swap to cool an inline 6?

I don't want to get too rare or spendy with the parts incase I need to replace it one day. And I don't want to have to redo the whole front end to fit something different.

I need high airflow because I am usually just flailing around not covering any ground. Lol.

Anybody got one in their way they want to part with?

A Volvo fan. Exact same fan as a Taurus fan, it just doesn't have the big bulky shroud. It has a flange around the edge perfect for making your own shroud. Just need a big relay for the high side.

Any idea what model(s) to look for?

I have a nice 2600cfm fan I bought from McMaster Carr can't remember the brand but it worked great on my YJ.

Also selling it if anyone needs one lol.

Shoot me a pic and price in that fan.

I'm looking at using a Contour v6 fan. I can't find one but in searching it seems that a 99 Cougar fan is the same. It appears that the these assemblies are the exact size as the landCruiser radiator.

The search continues.

what size do you think you'll need? I have a SPAL low profile 16'' fan taking up space. I'd let it go real cheap

Don't know what size your radiator is, but I got one from a 2007 HHR off from rock auto, it was only about 50 bucks. It is a good low profile fan and it fit the radiator on my TJ with only very minor trimming, but your radiator my be a totally different size. Cools the 4.0 just fine.

Good info. I think I'll order one. Thanks.

Alot of the fans on rock auto have the dimensions under more info, I just picked late model cars at random until I found one the right size. It took a couple of days but I finally found one.
