Electrical wiring help-a999 transmission

I apparently didn’t document this correctly and now I’m chasing diagrams that don’t tell or don’t match.

My a999 has an electrical plug with three wires.i have the plug, the harness the wires, I am just not certain where they go. See above comment about documentation.

It has a yellow with black trace, a brown with white trace and a black with white trace. I’m 99% certain I have the yellow and brown wired correctly. The black w/ white is in question. It terminates in a 90* elbow that appears to go on a 10/24 sensor or ground. Such as the temp sending or the I or S terminals on a starter solenoid.

It come out of the center pin on the plug that goes to the neutral safety sensor on the trans.

Is this just a ground or does it go to something specific? I can’t trace or find it in any diagrams or notes online. I’m hoping someone is just familiar with it.

Well, my next search (reworded for different search results) resulted in link to a post on HAMB saying it goes to the S terminal on the starter solenoid.

Could that be it? Bueller? bueller?

The neutral safety just closes the start solenoid trigger loop when the pedal is depressed if that makes sense. It is in series between the key circuit start post and the starter solenoid trigger normally open closed when the clutch pedal is depressed

The center wire has to be grounded for the starter solenoid to engage the starter. That should happen in park and neutral. The outer wires are connected when the transmission is in reverse to switch on the reverse lights.

Pretty sure the switch that the plug goes to is on the driver's side of the tranny near the shift linkage arm.

The single wire terminal does go the starter solenoid. There is a stud usually on the back of the solenoid that has to be grounded for it to engage the starter. It does not go to the S or I studs. It's possible to have an aftermarket solenoid that does not have the neutral safety grounding stud.

Your solenoid should look like Standard Motor Products SS582. If you look up a picture of that part you'll see a stud on the same side as the mounting bracket. That's where it connects.

Correct, there is a third stud on the opposite side from the I and S terminals.
