Electrical work or advice:

Anyone on here an electrician or know of one? I want to put power to the workshop in the backyard. Obviously it currently doesn't have any kind of power but it would be a huge help if it did. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not an electrician either but I am currently wiring my shop.
My biggest help, was buying a book at Lowe's that goes through all this stuff in details with pics. Book was a little expensive but def worth it. Maybe you could look into that.

A lot depends on what you need in the shop. How big is the shop and do you need 240v. A 40 amp 240 could be run from the house to the bldg to a box then split for lights and power to outlets.

run 240v regardless if you have the space in the house box.

Depending on how far it is from the house, the cheapest option may be to have DUke drop another meter in....

Otherwsie, you want to set a sub panel.
Needs will determine size as will available space and current head room.

I ran power to mine, but i had room in my outdoor panel....wasnt too hard at all, bought wire, breakers, outlets, and switches and wired some lights in. Let me know if you need a hand
