Why, oh why, do people make a run on the local grocery stores for milk, bread, and eggs at the first sign of any questionable weather? Lived in the country more or less my entire life, and I still don't understand the mentality.

So they can make french toast, duh!

Beer, Diet Mountain Dew, frozen pizzas, little debbie snacks, potato chips and hush puppies!!

when I worked at walmart I saw a guy buy 3 or 4 bags of ice along with the normal milk, bread, batteries before a big snow. . . . this was in cherryville, so that kinda explains it haha. It is interesting the things people "think" they need to survive the big blizzard, and how people go crazy when it snows any amount.

When we lived back in PS my dad told me to only grab what you use the most of. Milk/bread/eggs were never the top of the list, how much of that do you REALLY need?

In my house, my dad always grabbed the beer and pretzels. And toilet paper, of course.

key items = beer, spam, and redman and any girls you find in line that like the before metioned items (minus redman) for umm intelectual conversation yeah converstation

My thinking is...most time if you have a bad snow storm....the power goes out...which means the milk and eggs could possibly spoil...then all your left with is bread and no power?
Why not stuff that can be eaten at room temperature?
