Does anyone know of a company that rents trailers? Looking for something like a semi trailer, but I don't think anything bigger than 20' is going to be able to get onsite.
BWTrailer rents 40' units, but that is too big and again, probably not making it down my driveway.

Looking for something I can load my machine tools into and possibly store somewhere for a while until we land in our new house. I would do a container, but I have seen the loading and unloading of those, and I don't see my Bridgeport overcoming the physics involved in those transitions.

Been trying to buy a box truck, but all I am finding is ragged out junk or stuff that is sold before I can look at it.

We used them when we were storing furniture, while our house was being built. Cant remember how much it was but wasn't bad, it was local for us so might have been cheaper than some parts of NC. Not sure

I have a 20’ + 8’ gooseneck enclosed I’d sell cheap if you want it.

What about a Pod? I don't know about their loading process but they are specifically for this purpose.

They have a 28' that would be perfect.....but for some reason, they don't service my area.....site says "all of NC (I live in Raleigh), some parts of SC and VA"......
I mean....I get that Raleigh is not a great representation of NC....but it is still IN NC....

Anyone got a company that services the areas listed on their website?

PODS are CRAZY expensive, fee for drop off, pickup, drop off on gravel driveway, pickup from gravel driveway, fee for transport.....they are a classic bait and switch pricing model. I don't like dealing with companies like that. The prices they advertise are about 20% of what you actually pay if you rent one.

I figured a tractor trailer would be easier to get into, out of, and load my junk into (fork truck on site). Maybe I just sell it all to @jeepinmatt for cheap and buy it back from him in a year or two.

But seriously, lets talk. Between me and @braxton357 we could probably store and/or haul anything you got. And if you put a dumptruck costume on it, he will almost certainly buy it!

For future searchers, there is a company called upack.com that will drop almost any size dry box (semi trailer) at your place, you have 3 business days to load it (5 days if it drops on a wed).

They will then deliver it to your new location (or store it, in 30 days blocks).

Unfortunately for me, I have too many unknowns, trailers are booked out past labor day, AND they aren't offering storage right now because everything is booked.

If Covid hadn't put the world upside down, this would be perfect!

My buddy bought 3 old dominion pup trailers from the terminal in Thomasville last fall. They were $800 and in nice shape. I called them before I bought my van trailers and the lady said they put you on a list and call when they're available, should be the end of summer. I just didn't have time to wait.
