enclosed trailer title..help

I have a small enclosed trailer i am wanting to sell but i cant find the title and it was a ga title in my mothers name. She wrote me a bill of sale but thats not good enough for nc, and i dont really want to drive back and forth to ga or mail crap back and forth what should i do? I should of changed it to my name when i bought it but nooo i waited lol like a dumb a$$

have your mom (or you) apply for a lost title in GA. Once the title is obtained, it can be transferred to NC.

Ga. does not recognize title for vehicles. If you buy a car in Ga you get a bill of sale and a signed registration, carry them to the DMV in NC and they issue a title. It sometimes takes a stupidvisor over there to get it done. IDK if trailers are the same but its worth a shot.

FWIW this is a good way to get a title for an old car where the PO has lost the title and it was never in their name to begin with. An old trick that has served me well over the years. all you need is a friend/relative who lives in GA. and you pay the tax in both states.

I've done this countless times to get titles on vintage motorcycles. Works great.
