ok.... so i got a 05 dodge 1500 with the 4.7 in it. it is the second engine in the truck. the engine is still overheating. the entire cooling system was replaced when the engine got replaced. i am open for sugestions as to why. when it overheats the coolant dosent go into the overflow tank but dose flow.

sounds like air trapped in cooling system maybe.. check for bleeders on/around thermostat housing/upper water outlet.

I had the same problem with the 4.7 in my 04 Durrango and it turned out to be the Fan Clutch was bad.
