Looking for a good shop. Someone that is good with ford engines. A shop with a good reputation that is trust worthy. Anyone heard of Wise performance engineering?

I mean...depending on how wild you're going, put it on a pallet and I know a guy...don't really do stock(ish) rebuilds though if that's what you're looking for. We also have a year long backlog at this point too though.

So why offer?

Because vague post was vague. I get customers every day willing to wait a year, hence the backlog...maybe they're doing a restoration that won't be done for five years, maybe they don't have anyone in their area with the expertise, maybe they like the work we do, maybe they like my haircut...I dunno, every customer you pass up is one you don't get. We're good with Ford engines, so figured I'd live up to the yellow diamond. Hell, I got a bronco shipped from Alaska to our north shop this week for a custom build that started out as a request for a custom rear panel gun tote to be fabbed up. So I guess, that’s why you offer.

351 Windsor bored 40 over stock crank small dished pistons, eagle rods, trick flow roller cam and lifters and afr 185 60cc never fired fresh rebuild. Would like to upgrade to 393 with dished forged pistons to 8.5 comp. Looking to add a supercharger to put into a street/pro touring build.

If you are going to stroke it go 408, not 393.
Those 185s, are marginally adequate for a NA stroked windsor...if you want to supercharge it you want afr205s, at least.

All that said...are you looking for a machine shop or a shop to install the motor.

Machine shop. I will be installing the motor. The reason for 393 is stroker crank, stock 351 rods and stock 302 pistons make 393 for less $. And forged 302 pistons for boosted app are not a lot of $$

I think you are getting some bad info.
289/302/351 all use a stock 4.00 bore so changing your stroke length won't matter there. Of course you say bore .040 and then say stock pistons so....

Only difference between a 393 and a 408 is the stroke/crank and vastly improved geometry.

Stock rod length on a 351 is 3.500
A 393 would use a 3.850
A 408 uses a 4.000
So a 408 is 4x4...

Which btw naturally aspirated a 408 will get you 550+ at the crank without a lot of effort.

But I'm not helping answer your original question.
I've used Greg's in Shelby 2 times with good results..thatsnthe closest to you ive got.

But I am speaking from experience here. The afr 185s won't cut it.
Dyno it and you will see the flow restriction point.

Id rather have afr 205s or Ford Z2s (< that's what I'm using in my curremt build)

I talked to several engine builders online and all told me stroker crank stock length rods and stock 40 over 302 pistons. I am sure you know more than I do about engine building. I have been out of the game for along time.I appreciate the advise, just trying to get a few more cubes. Here is one link but there are a lot more on the net.

Project Strokers Wild (Part 2): We Build 393 CID Ford 351W - OnAllCylinders

A 393/302 piston has a different compression height than the "custom" 408 Pistons, so yeah you will have a lot more compression ratio choices and cheaper parts in a 393 build. If you want to use the 185s I'd say do an 11:1 or better 393 build. If nothing else the shorter stroke will help with longevity. It will be over 500hp with the right cam and intake.

Well I have guy who is doing my motor currently to basically the same specs minus the supercharger. But he's in concord. I'm happy to ask him if he's taking more work.

I used RoHo racing when I built my long rod 306. He passed a couple years ago however.
If you can locate Robert Reeves somehow, he's the local Ford and basically all HP engine guru around here.

I'm looking for a good roller Windsor block myself to swap many of my 306 goodies into and create a 393.

M & E Engine Service in Shelby. A close friend owns this place and they do great work. Might be booked for a while you’ll just have to check.
