Engine Swap wiring woes

Ok I am swapping a 5.0L from a 1990 F150 into my 1995 YJ. I have Alldata and I am going through the schematics. I am noticing some of the ford diagrams are not matching up to what the harness has, i.e. connector to the ECM, wires for the start/ignition. I wound up having to start tracing each wire for any progress after following the schematics with no success. In addition, I was going to try to keep the use of the factory Jeep gauges. I was able to splice those but the oil pressure gauge pegs out and the coolant temp gauge sits at about 110 when the Jeep is key on. I searched around and wasn’t able to find anything pertaining to what I am trying to do. Does anyone have information about which wires to be splicing together? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Awesome, got progress, fuel pump primes, relays energizing. Now trying to figure out why the ford fender mount starter solenoid won’t engage.

Maybe you need to re-read the OP's post buddy.
you're a non-helpful troll...

anyway, your gauges maybe kinda funky cause of the senders... they probably have diff resistances then the regular senders which maybe why the gauges are acting kinda nutty.... i'd try to see if the OE senders will fit.

It’s alive, now I need to find a shorter than OEM mini starter to clear the downspout of the header. I am using a 4 spd flywheel and the starter needs to be a 3/8 throw.

If you have something to say please do it in pm or on the trail. I'm the OP's roommate so if I had something useful I wouldn't waste my time posting it. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers.

On the flip side, awesome idea of using the YJ's senders. How would using npt adapter fittings affect the senders?

Starter made all the difference, cleaned up some of the wiring. Little late on posting on the success so far, it will be a slow going from here with no spare time.

So I'm guessing you got the selinoid fixed for the starter, one of the good things ford did do. Makes things alot easier. Also I'd just use oe sending units for the thing, I'm not sure if they are different but it'd save the trouble of finding out.

Thats what I wound up doing was using the jeep's factory senders on the 302. Only had to get a brass adaptor for the one sender.
