44's you might be ok, but with 49's I'd say get a doubler. I even have a 203 I might sell you that fits a th400.

i was gonna try to do it without a doubler but i dont want it geared to high ... does anybody know anyone who has a used doubler or one already set up

I saw in your buggy post that you will be running a diesel. What is the working rpm range of that engine?

With a torquey diesel (can't remember the specs off a 4bt, all I know is I damn sure don't wanna be behind you on the trail.. :p ) IMO you'd be marginal with the 44's.

Doing some comparisons, you'd be about the same as a guy running a TH350 with a NV241, geared 3.73 in the axles, turning a 38, or a TH350/NP205 combo with 5.13's in the axles, turning 38's.

you are gonna want more gear, 3.1 in the 205 would be good i would think. or a 3.0 atlas. but either way you are going to want more gear.

yeah thats what i thought but we run some those guys from eastern tenn. alot they run 44s 49s and 52s and none of them run doublers so thats why i thought i could get away with it. i guess im just being a tight ass

the rpm range stock goes up to 2500 or so thats where the fuel gov. is. i will be running the 3200 gov. springs in mine

Whynot something from them? Look at the Lomax 205 they offer I think thats the way I'm going instead of doubling.
