With very little to do today, I decided to go jump in a Lake! Actually haven't been down there in 2 years, & Knew things had changed! I did the "walk in thing" down the Power line, & there were 6 vehicles already parked there, when I arrived. A "formerly" closed dirt road, has been open for a while, & I noticed a Chevy Z-71 making it's way in, along with his Straight Tailpipes. After making my way down, I discovered he was going to "Try" to recover, another idiot, that had sunk his 2 wheel drive truck, in the end of a cove. Gee, That's only where All the stumps, mud & trash collects! This Pin-head, in His Chevy 2-wheel drive, had entered the water, & drove along the edge for about 150 feet, before Thinking he could drive across the end, & out the other side! Needless to say, the open diff 95 Z-71, didn't have a Chance of pulling this guy out. But his Pipes were Loud! They found a small chain, about 20' long, & Surprisingly, it didn't break, but was useless. Even the 3 guys in the back of the stuck truck were useless, along with the Driver, & his girlfriend. I politely pointed out that they were adding 300# to the struck truck, which was sitting on the frame. They paid me no attention, & I Sure wasn't going to get involved with them. Between the 2 trucks & friends, there were about 15 teenagers. Now the whole time this is going on , the struck one, is running; must have had Plenty of gas! Once they started trying to extract him, it was left in reverse, with the right rear tire turning. [haha] One other guy had come with his family, in a Suburban, & he told them he would go get his Deuce & 1/2, for $150. NO, they could get it out. They came Ever So close to getting the Z-71 stuck, but "loud pipes" gave up. By then they had called another friend, whom showed up with another Z!
Well, this one had 35" tires, & a winch! OK! So he pulls up to the first Z, & Tries to run out 15' of cable, to hook on to the other Z. Next thing I know, he puts it in reverse, Rares back, & breaks several strands of his cable! I'm getting a little Vocal by then, & telling them, the Damn winch is for winching, YOU just broke your Line! Ah, my winch doesn't work. I nearly busted out laughing! O boy with the Deuce, is just standing back watching the show. So I tell them, at least turn your truck around, before you bust your reverse gear! Nice Looking ride, But No lockers. No one has a Strap, & even the chain was borrowed! No tow hooks, & the Big Z, had to borrow another guys hitch, to have somewhere to "Tie" the chain. Well, with No co-ordination between the 2 Zs, there was still no getting the Stuck 1 moved. Pin-head, finally cut his truck off, I can tell by now, he's drunk, cussing, & about to start crying. [O hell!] I've spent 2 hours, watching, & ready to leave. Seemed They were going to leave it, but then I was told to hang around, the Deuce guy had headed back to get His Machine. [that he's not suppose to drive in the dark, & it's getting dark!] No thanks, I'd seen enough. I thought about some pics or video, but didn't want to make anything worse. Hey, They'r just a bunch of kids, & learning a Lesson, I Hope! One or two of them Did shoot some video, so it will probably hit U-tube, by tomorrow. I've done some Stupid stuff, but Not That Damn Dumb!
