Anyone ever buy a BMW from ES Motorsports? I am looking around and see they have a good selection. I am in the market for a e46 m3/m5. I want fast but still need a back seat of some kind.

Thanks

I've seen their prices for some high mileage cars & thought they were a bit high.

We have a similar high end car lot in Hickory. I don't know how they are now, but 6 years ago the sons that run the lot now, used to ride around in Dad's hot cars & run the crap out of them. It didn't look good for their business. As high as repairs can be, I'd stick with a dealer certified car.

They had a pretty bad reputation on Bimmerforums and NCEuro.org for the longest time. I believe some of the threads about them may have been removed from both sites because they can't be found now.

It has admittedly been a few years since I've heard anything bad about them (aside from the article below), but I'd never consider making a purchase from them just because of some of the bad stuff I read in the past about their dealings.

Also, this happened a couple weeks ago:
GREENSBORO, N.C. — The owner of a Greensboro car dealer was arrested Wednesday after officials said he illegally billed customers for tax, tag and title fees for 87 vehicle sales.
Ehsan Shahnawaz, 32, of Greensboro, owns ES Motorsports, Inc. at 707 Norwalk St.
Shahnawaz was charged with selling vehicles to out-of-state customers, charging them illegally for North Carolina taxes, titles and tags, when the vehicles were not being titled or licensed in the state.
Officials said Shahnawaz was arrested after a routine dealer audit by DMV inspectors. The audit allegedly included an investigation into the dealership’s sales records over an 18-month period.
Shahnawaz was charged with 87 felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense, 12 counts of common law forgery, and six counts of common law uttering.
Misdemeanor counts included two counts of having open titles, 25 counts of charging hidden fees, four counts of failure to inspect vehicles prior to sale, and 13 counts of improper issuance of a 30-day marker.
Shahnawaz was placed in the Guilford County Detention Center under a $95,000 secured bond.
License and Theft Bureau inspectors are continuing to investigate. Authorities said he was also charged other fees not allowed by North Carolina law.
ES Motorsports, Inc. has specialized in high-end sports cars and BMWs since opening in 2008. Officials said Shahnawaz also sold cars online.

Yeah I was gonna say he got arrested heard it through he car dealer grapevine

Do you have $2-3k in the bank allotted for repairs to the car at all times? Those are both pretty expensive cars to fix if they break, and they are German, they WILL break. I've seen the E 46 M3 break the ears off the Vanos unit numerous times. The part alone is over a grand. The E39 M5 will eat rear tires to the tune of $250 plus each in as little as 11k miles (depending on how lead your foot is) If you are easy on it (but then why drive an M car) you can get 25k or so. As a BMW master tech, I personally think they are all on borrowed time from about 110k on depending on how it was taken care of previously. If it gets neglected they get EXTREMELY expensive EXTREMELY fast. It seems to me that if one come in the shop with something broken, it takes a grand or more to fix it. Just somethings to think about. People think they are great cars, and they can be and they are tons of fun to drive, but when they break they are much less fun. There's a reason BMW stands for Break My Wallet. For me, If I wanted fast, I'd get a Subaru STI.

I was only 20 at the time that I dealt w/ him, and didn't know as much as I know now. The first car I bought was really awesome, just a little overpriced. The 2nd was for the laguna seca and was a great experience all time.
I was really young to be buying them by myself and they didn't charged any taxes.

Btw what is uttering?
