I am just curious if any of ya'll have had any issues with E-10 gasoline.

I'm not sure where everyone gets their gas but if it's at a major convieneve store (murphy, hess, texaco, citco, etc...) you are getting e-10 gasoline, which is a 10% ethanol blend.

If someone has a problem with any of their equipment (lawn mowers, 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, etc...) or their rigs when it comes time to fire them things back up e-10 ethanol may be the problem. Especially if they have been sitting all winter.

Anyways, I was just curious if anyone's had any problems. Lemme know.

It could be the ethanol... or it could be the 300k on the odometer that's giving me issues...
Who knows.

It killed a chainsaw of mine.....make sure to mix more oil with the gas

I ran e-10 in everything for 3 years when I lived in Nebraska and no issues. When storing stuff for winter I put seafoam in the tank and it has helped. I had a really touchy weed eater that wouldnt start after just a week not in use, started putting some seafoam in it when storing and it starts right up now.

I used to have a built Turbo Lebaron way back when they used to only use E-10 for a few months out of the year. I have no idea why, but for those few months the damn thing REEKED of gas. As soon as they switched back to straight gas, it went away. This happened every damn year too.

well i work at a dealership for scag, hustler, stihl and i see it all day long note to self only buy 93oct for your lawn equipment and add stabil to everything!!!

X2 And throw out the gas after a month even with stabil!

Up where my mom lives, outsoide of Littleton on Lake Gaston, there is 1 gas station that dosn't use any ethanol... specifically b/c so many people have trouble w/ it wrecking their boat motors. So guess what, they get a LOT of business. Including mine for the car, we consistently get better MPGs in wife's Matrix when we fill up there on our way out of town vs anywhere else.
(Sicec we always leave Mom's on a 5 hr highway trip home, I can confidently say I have good basis for thsi comparison).

It seems that it's not only in harnett county where people are having problems. My family has been in the gas business for 25 years and it's a conversation that comes up everyday at the office. If you guys are wondering where you might can get some 100% conventional gasoline, I would try your local mom and pop stores in your area. But before long everybody will be selling E-10 gasoline......b/c the government says so!

I know man.....It's a shame

I don't like this Effemall in the gas. Everytime I crank my chainsaws here lately, I'm having to retune them, and they still aren't happy. My old 046 always started on the 3rd pull after sitting and first pull when warmed up. Went to cut a few things yesterday, took about 3 minutes to get it cranked, 5 minutes to get it tuned right, and then probably 20 pulls to get it to crank when it's warm. This is bad for America.

I noticed last year after I bought gas for all my 2cycle stuff that it all gave me lots of problems. I double checked my oil mix and it was right. Just dawned on me what was going on. Even my lawn mower that never had a problem stoped wanting to restart after being stoped for a short time.

We've had to retune both of the carburated boat motors, one EFI Mercury Optimax 225 died at the hands of E10, my ATV's all had to be richened up a little, and I can't keep a clean weedeater carb unless I drain the tank and let it burn out the remainder, have been doing the same on the small boats and keeping stabil in everything. And of course my 23mpg 'yota now gets 18mpg.

My big ? about this crap, it was supposed to be a big deal because it burns cleaner, but if it takes 20% more to go the same distance we were going on regular gasoline, have we actually made an improvement? Better yet, why in the hell is it the same price as real gas?

Ethanol also attracts water. You need to make sure to run some sort of water remover through your vehicles gas tank every few months. The water in the e10 is what causes the biggest drop in milage. Its also really bad for your o2 sensors.

anyone know of a place around charlotte that has straight gas? I need to see if this E-10 is causing my problems. It seems I am getting a lot of carbon build up throttle body. I've had this jeep for 3yr going on 4 and it just recently this year started idling rough for about 3-4min and I have to feather the gas to go anywhere during this time frame, after it's warmed up it's good to go.

The cheapest answer is Stabil blue....it neutralizes any effects of the Ethanol...

So pay $2.70 a gallon for E-10 and then spend more money on additives to make it run right?

Why does my ass hurt so bad?

"Sicec"?

was that a legit typo? or did you do that on purpose? because S.i.c.e.c. stands for "Society for Investigating the Credibility of Extraordinary Claims.

just thought that was ironic that you were making claims of better mileage and you used that word.
