Ever get stuck behind a pack of cyclist on 751??

As a cyclist please be considerate. I spend most of my time in the woods but get out on the Charlotte area roads occasionally and try to be respectful of traffic. It works both ways. Thanks!

A cyclist was hit and killed on 751 a few weeks ago early in the morning (dark), might have been a group of his friends. I really don't know why they ride out there all the time. It's a shortcut from Durham/Chapel Hill to Cary/Apex etc. and peeps run 65 or better on the straight stretches 55 or so on the rest and will pass you if you're not speeding. The hills and curves, plus peeps passing, and big trucks makes it not safe at all for bicycles. It's also a good road to hit a deer on.

You are one of the few. Most cyclist around here make it their life goal to impede traffic and piss of as many people as possible. And I have heard that direct from a few of them, not just basing an assumption on their actions.

I have a lot of friends who are cyclists and I have no problem with the ones who are respectful.

I do have a problem with the ones that ride in a pack of 60 up by my house for 10 miles where I can't pass them and they are going 20mph in a 55 zone.

I like to ride both on and offroad. I do not understand those fools who think it is a good idea to ride down a state highway or any other heavily traveled two lane road with a 55mph speed limit. DEATH WISH I tell you!

This is why my bike stays on the trainer until sunday mornings. I refuse to put myself in any more danger than necessary.

And I stay off all roads that go by the number!

741, 211, 41, 72, 710 whatever it is. Steering Clear.

X2 on the Sunday rides. Very limited traffic in Winston-Salem; I can generally get 20-30 miles in without any interference.
