Yes, I am one of those people that does in a lot of cases think things happen for a reason. Maybe not everything...but a lot of things. A good example:
Back in April on the big Uwharrie trip I was headed out to Rocky Mount Loop with the Isuzu group (with our little Montero/Raider group tossed in there). I heard some strange noises coming from my steering, and had some jerking/resistance in the steering wheel when I backed out of the campgrounds. I started to think I should turn around and just ride with someone.
When we got to the parking lot one of the Isuzu's died out at the trail head while we were lined up. I told myself if we had to turn around and go around/go back out into the parking lot I would stop and ride with someone. Sure enough to get one of our guys to try to jump him we had to back out. So I rode with another guy and played trail guide.
When wheeling with the bigger group of the more mechanically inclined than I, I had planned on taking a harder line when we got to Kodak. And just about on the line I was going to take one of the other Montero guys does close to $400 worth of damage to his truck. And he has better clearance than I do. So that could have been me.
If anything maybe it kept me from trying something to hard for my truck, and breaking it some other way on any harder line. I know its not one of those "Final Destination" type situations but I figured the Isuzu breaking down kept me from possibly breaking my truck. But who knows, maybe nothing would of happened.
Anyone else think things happen for a reason? Or maybe I am just the crazy one.
