EXO or Interior cage?

EXO, comes in handy on tight trails you can use as a pivot to get around stuff.
like he said you can use the exo to pivot around stuff and if your wanting to keep a full body your going to want a exo if you don't care about body damage then an internal will do for you. but either way a cage is a must if you want to wheel for your safety

I had a full exo on my ZJ. I Barrell rolled it 5 times and walked away without a scratch. With that said, the exo did its job, but it compromised itself in the process. Also the exo got tweaked a few times from hard hits, this made it so that the doors made contact with the tube when opening and closing.

Just some things to think about.

Hybrid cage is the only way to go...
Exo for protecting the body, and added strength, but an exo is not nearly as protective to the driver/passenger in the event of a rollover, and an interior will also protect the structural integrity of your rig much more IMO.

Interior all the way, with a few exo bars for added strength and protection.

ding ding ding

We have a winner.

IMO hybrid cages are the coolest and best of both worlds - but also the most difficult to do, and will involve the most sheet metal cutting etc.

After having the exo, I am going with a hybrid this time (and also adding suspension seats and 5 point harnesses)

That's going to be true of pretty much any exo cage. The spans between nodes are bigger, it's harder to crossbrace effectively, etc... Once it takes a good hit, it's going to trash everything. And those tubes will deflect into the body, bending whatever panel they were supposed to be protecting.
