With your mom at a nice seafood dinner
So my dad passed away about 7 years ago. Being the only son, its assumed I get all the man stuff. My mom kept some of the things at her place because she may need them (chainsaws, weedeaters, mowers, etc). Some things I also left behind in case I need them like sockets, screwdrivers, and other misc hand tools. Now she's basically saying get it all out. Not sure if she's planning on selling out or what but now I'm inundated with tools.

I'm conservatively saying I have about 5 complete sets of sockets and have a few hundred screwdrivers. Now I have doubles and triples of everything. I've already made a wheeling set of tools and also a set for my son for when the time comes and he needs to step up his game and completely tear everything to hell.

So what about the rest? Yard art? Donate? Ideas appreciated.

I have some of my Granddad's stuff I just keep stashed in a cabinet. If I loose or break something, I take the replacement from his. I say keep as much as you have room for and if its good quality stuff try to sell the rest.

The really cheap stuff....sell or donate.....to a metal artist.
I personally am stocking up for random sculpting.
As for to many, does that happen!?!
I got truck sets, shop sets, work sets at the plant, and a few randoms in the house.

Got any younger nieces, cousins that could use them? Or maybe a really desearving family member who doesn't own anything?

If you've got any nieces or nephews that would appreciate having some of his stuff, this is a great option. Maybe it goes into the same category as your son - put it aside for when they're a bit older.

Have more children. Build more tool sets for them with the extras. Done.
I'm afraid that's gonna be a no go. Due to circumstances beyond our control the world has been saved from anymore of my spawn.

This definitely.

I guess an important question is how much of it is good old stuff that is worth keeping, how much might be cool due to age or as a "/i have grandad's tool" thing, and how much are just normal tools that have no value different from if you picked it up from teh store or craigslist today.
IMO, anything in that last category - just get rid of it... give/sell to friends cheap, donate to NPOs, etc.

Heck donate to your local high school or see if you can find a local robotics team or something. If I were closer our NPO that sponsors STEM ed would happily take anything.

Flat rate box?

My nieces and nephews aren't going to be the wrenching type....

I guess I'll just pile it up. As for the extra tillers and chainsaws, I may be having a sale.
Tillers and chainsaws? I'm probably too broke but can one ever have too many saws?

Save some for your daughter, too. She'll be driving eventually and should know how to maintain her own junk. Plus maybe she'll be more likely to pick a guy worth a shit because y'all can make 10mm jokes and it will weed out the pajama boys.

Any of it good quality stuff? I'll throw you a jewball for it if it is.

Feng shui your house...but with tools. Natural placement for tools, where you'll need them most. I kid...but I kinda don't. My toolbox is full, but I have multiple '150pc sets' stashed around my house, so I don't need to go looking for tools when I need them. My downstairs master closet has a set, my pantry has a set, my upstairs master bath has a set, my upstairs hallway closet has a set, and I have a set in my bonus room closet. It really is nicer than it sounds having 90% of the tools you for household projects less than a few steps away. The chainsaws and stuff...I'd sell unless they were upgrades to what you already have.

I have no idea what that is.
Combination of a jew offer and a lowball offer. Offensive to people in the media, and male AARP members.

You can also paint the handles pink or yellow or whatever to make them more appealing to her.
My daughter was so much more excited to have her own tools when I did that. I'm not a fan of the stereotype but it was what she wanted. I think it may also be that she knows now her brother won't use them.

I like tools.
What ya selling :D

In for a good tiller as well. Hopefully a rear tine Troybilt that will make BTL titties jiggle.

On a serious note if you have enough to make some trail bags think about donating to True Patriot inc to help a Veteran be more prepared on the trails. I can get you in contact with Mike Heath to arrange the pickup.

It actually is a Troybilt. It's the biggest they made with the Kohler engine. She's a beast and would definitely jiggle whatever you need it to.
I have one that my Dad bought in the late 70's. Horse model I think it was called. Damn thing will drag my ass where ever it wants to go.

That'd be the one. It's a Horse and it will do whatever it feels like. Especially when it hooks a root or rock.
