I recently bought a 1997 F150 4x4 from a good friend and wanted to get some of you guys expert opinions. The truck is in great shape and the milage is low for the year but my friend told me that the shocks seemed to be on their way out and wanted me to be aware. As is, it already rides 100 times better than my TJ so I am thrilled but I dont want to wait till they are completely shot to address the issue. What shocks do you recommend with the focus being on ride quality. This truck will not be wheeled and as of now I dont plan on towing with it. I am looking for a great median between price and quality but I will spend as much as needed. Sorry for the ramblin. Thanks for any input you may have as I dont know a ton once you get past Jeep.

My '03 has Rancho 5000's on it. It rides fine. I would personally recommend the lower line of Bilstein shocks. If you don't want to spring $250+ for a set then go with Rancho's.

Avoid nitrogen shocks if you are after ride quality.
