fan leaking

I noticed a small puddle of oil under the fan of my DD XJ. Its hard to see where its coming from, all I can figure is its the goo from the fan clutch maybe. When I crawled underneath, there is oil collected in the fan shroud. I've never heard of this leaking, does it happen like this? The oil I see is brownish red, I dont think its tranny fluid. It is def. coming from the fan side, and there's not much else over there. I should check the alternator fluid, it might be low.

Its entirely possible that the fan clutch is leaking. I see it at least once a week. It's silicone that they put in them. Not sure what color it is when new. All the ones I see have dust and dirt stuck to everything.

If it is from the fan clutch as you lose more fluid the fan will turn less RPM which isnt a big deal right now but will be in July.

Be sure to check that Alternator Fluid! If it gets low, the flashers wont work.
