school me on the fass/airdog systems for ISB dodges, 95 gph and 150 gph. I understand the 95 will carry 550 hp and require no tank mods. Is this true? I plan on setting my truck up to be able to hit 400-450ish on the grd when I'm done. So my question is: Is the FASS 95 worth the extra cash over the airdog since they both carry the same lifetime wrty?
I'm going to order one or the other later this week. So if anybody has a good source/price I'm open to recommendations. Looks like the airdog 100 gph is 529 and the fass 95 gph is 607.

I've got a Fass on my tool truck. Cummins isb, WOULD not take anything for it. For me it saves me about $30 a week in fuel and the best part is I'm not replacing those stock lift pumps every six months. I just started using the 1 micron filters and loving it.

Okay , a few things here

1st: A FASS or Airdog will save you some serious dough when it comes to a diesel. We've got a fuel thats more dense than gas, Its also easily foamed, How many times have you filled your gas tank and sprayed foam everywhere?
So long short , If the fuel has excessive vapor, It causes pump cavitation, and poor atomization. It's pretty well a proven fact of life. Secondly, A Fuel cooler will help as well!

Now the fass - airdog thing.....

First of all, In some situations FASS bumps up the pressure reducing the effectivness of the Fuel air seperator. Airdog uses this as a huge selling point. In these trucks (VP Trucks) there is no possibility of the pressure being out of spec of the Fuel air sep.

Secondly....
You'll send your Airdog back 10 times in 10 years....
You might send your fass back once.
We sell and install both. I really prefer the high quality of the fass. As well as, They'll send you a new pump so your not dead in the water? Ask Airdog If they'll do that?

Let me know, I'll price match!

I love my Airdog. I installed it last December, haven't changed a filter yet, 16lbs constant/WOT, no problems here. What more could you ask for?

I bought the Airdog 100, of course I haven't ran it yet. Airdog was very helpful and quick when I needed extra parts for my application.

I run a FASS on my 00 CTD, i see 13-14 psi all the time, i got mine on ebay for $340 used. The pump vanes were seized up, i just took it apart and cleaned it and it works like a charm

On a side note, does anyone have a good source for the FASS filters locally? The website doesn't have any cross reference numbers to normal filters.

Been running my airdog going on 3 years with no problems. Both good systems and just depends who you talk to which way they lean in my personal experience.

Yep. I was kind of pissed at the lack of any torque values in their instructions, and when screwing the fuel line onto the fitting in the vp, against my better judgment didn't use a backing wrench to hold the fitting since there just isn't any room. Snapped that bitch off in the pump and had to rig some shit with a hose barb and the old fp fitting.
Anyway, called them and they (for free) overnighted me a new fitting.
After that I was pretty impressed.

FASS

The FASS 95 is awesome for most applications. If you're wanting to push high HP and TQ, you might wanna step up to the 150 though. I have the 150/150 on my truck and have really been impressed with it. I have had to deal with hard start issues however but my VP was going out the entire time so I wont chalk all the blame on the FASS for that. A new VP is in the line for me, then some big HP mods to come. Let me know if I can help you out further. Diesels can get addictive, but so can 4x4s, lol. :driver:

I got some VP parts for sell if ya wana fast truck
If hard starting continues to be an issue I would consider putting in a hobs switch, to much fuel pressure when starting can cause the same issue!

This seems to be the case. I've looked around and talked to some vendors and most seem to be loyal to one or the other and owners seem to be loyal to the one they have. I've seen failures in both cases but haven't heard any horror stories of not getting it repaired/replaced since most failures seem to happen right away.
Well this has already been good. So what is the 150/150 95/150 bit on the fass systems? I thought that it was 150 gph and 95 gph.

fass

I have the FASS 95 pump but with the 150 filters (i guess that is how I would say it). I just replaced my filters with the napa replacement parts. Not sure if this is a bad thing but they work perfect and were a exact match. I haven't had any problems with the pump and I sped 3 weeks in Maine during the winter months were it drops to below zero and never a problem with that either.

good luck in your find.

Only main diffrence is the filter size and that the block isnt designed to flow as much!

Dont get me wrong, I really like both pumps. I've ran all of them!

I think Fass is a higher quality. but also a higher quality that most wont demand!
