On Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 I am going to participate in a charity event to help raise support for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
http://www.prostatecancerfoundation.org/

The event is a workout, put on through the gym I go to, CrossFit Charlotte which is an affiliate of the CrossFit company.

1 in 6 men in the US will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer; 186,000 men in the US will be diagnosed this year alone. The success rate of beating prostate cancer is 90%, if caught early enough, through the research and aid of the Prostate Cancer Foundation and events such as these. This event stands out to my family as we have a family friend who is currently in remittion after a battle with prostate cancer. He was a neighbor of ours for many years and my younger brother and his son were great friends growing up. They have sense moved to another area in the city but we still stay in contact.

Additionally, 25% of all donations will go to the Wounded Warrior Project which is an organization set up that has veterens helping other veterns cope with post traumatic stress syndrome and rebuilding a life after debilitating injuries sustained while in Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the world.

I am merely asking for your support in the form of words of encouragement in completing the event to the best of my ability. If you do feel inclined to help support financially, every cent counts, then click on the image below and follow the process. If you have any questions I will be glad to answer them the best I can.

The workout consist of 3 rounds of:

1. Wall-ball, 10 ft target (Reps)
2. Sumo Deadlift high-pull (Reps)
3. Box jump, 20" (Reps)
4. Push-press (Reps)
5. Row (Calories)

Each exercise last for 1 minute, no break between them. There is the option of a 1 minute break between the 3 rounds. The goal is to get your total number of rep/calories as high as possible.

Thank you everyone for taking the time even to review the information.

Thanks.

The last time I did this workout I had a total of 255 reps/calories. I am hoping to get over 300 this time around. I'll be sure to let everyone know.

Keep the support coming.

Just wanted to tell everyone thanks for the support and keep it coming.

I am going to try and convince them to film the workout because I feel like reading it doesn't begin to explain the struggle.
