first get xj

then drive onto hood and into windshield until your tire hits and dents the roof

now...

first unbolt and unplug everything that might be connected to teh tranny/tcase.

then hook up the winch to the tranny

winch in until you see what's holding the tranny to the block.

remove all the bolts you missed.

winch in until you find that 1 other bolt you missed

remove that bolt

winch in until the tranny hits the ground.

since it'll be impossible to get the tranny/tcase out at this point since the jeep isn't sitting on jackstands it's now time to relocate your winching vehicle.

put tow strap through windows and around roof

hook to winch and winch xj to a 45 degree angle

remove tranny and tcase from the side

call wrecker to haul piece of crap to the dump

THAT WAS FUN!

-Erik <--- left out all the beer breaks

That's awesome.

O yah that was great. What might have happened if your winch brake had let go while you were under it.

the most time spent under the cherokee (while at a 45 degree angle) was to grab the output shaft and pull the tranny out from under the jeep. At no point did Erik or I even pretend like this is the proper/safe way of doing this. So I guess what I'm saying is was it safe? No. Did it work? Yes. Was it funnier than hell? Definitely. Let's all just drink a  and laugh about this. Thanks

sounds like a great way to screw up stuff to me

actually, a baseball bat is a great way to screw stuff up. as is a lead pipe, beer bottle, cinder block, etc.

i'll test all those methods tonight and report back to let you guys know which did the most damage with the least amount of effort :flipoff2:

Good shit Erik.

Junkman - if your winch brake EVER lets go, it's not going to be a good day.

found some sweet ways to destroy an xj body using two locked wranglers.... pictures to come shortly!

used it again tonight to winch the white xj to it's side to yank out the axles.

axles out and loaded on a trailer in under 20 minutes with only an angle grinder and a sawzall. poor xj. come and get her scrap man before my HOA kicks my arse!

couldn't find any good way to winch the motor out of the red one so we resorted to the logical cherry picker.... tomorrow we'll winch it on it's side to yank the axles out of it too though, hehe

perhaps i'll try that tomorrow :)

just talked with the guy who is supposed to pick up the scrap and he said it may not be until friday that could come come by.... ugh...

thats awesome man. reminds me of home when we used to have the redneck olympics!
I like that jeep dude. ive seen it around CFCC a few times.

appreciate it. i go to school there... occasionally.... :)

LOL....that's awesome!!! I think I've been inspired to do that to the waggy!

WHO, broke WHAT, that was leakin all over the fender??!!!

he he he:rolleyes:

the xj was winched onto it's side so we could easily cut everything holding the axles to the chasis :)

i guess there was still some oil in the engine. i'll have the dead grass analyzed by the coroner to determine the exact cause of death.

Hey Erik,
You could charge admission to people who may want to come by and play monster truck. 2 cherokees side by side....:driver:
