After a few long nights of washing the heck out of this Hot Dog Cart , we had our inspection and i was nervous as hell but i seemed to pass it with flying colors! After all the after market "Gizmos" Terry added to the Cart i believe the health inspector was impressed! I spoke with Uhwarrie national forest and I am sending over the application and we should be ready to rock. I am glad the first step is over now, and am glad i can focus on pleasing the people that matter the most and the people who have built this hotdog business to where it is today. Thanks for all of your support as we take on this task!

Do we have someone to inspect something like this in Eden ?

Inspections are done through the Health Department Food Inspector. Eden Doesnt have a seperate food inspector. If you set up in Eden at an event then the county will come out and inspect you. That goes for any event you set up at that is in the "Public".

I spent nearly 20 years in restaurant Mgt. Have you considered other options, as far as your menu?
For example. I know when you set up, you have down time from time to time. Why not use that time to prepare things like a "to go sandwich? Say start with maybe 10 Bologna sandwiches. With the choice of Lettuce and tomato, a pack of Mao and mustard, to go with it? Served and sold cold, to be eaten now or later. See how they sell, and go from there. Don't do the hum drum boring grocery store bologna, but some good market thick cut stuff. Could be sold earlier, to catch the crowd that's gonna stay in the woods as long as they can.
Coffee, served early also, with sweetener choice and cream.
Maybe throw in some breakfast biscuits. Could be purchased at Hardee's or Bo Jangles, and re=sold. I know the trucks that go to job sites do this, not sure why you couldn't. Another good choice for those who are there early and for those who camp and do not have a street legal rig to go to say the outpost.
The hot summer days, well some ice cream would go down good.
Some of this may require a generator, One of those Honda's would power a small freezer, and the coffee pot. And they don't make a lot of noise and run a long time on a little fuel. You can also use propane to make it easier and less mess.
Just a few ideas

These are some good ideas and are to be considered! We first and foremost would like to get in the swing of what they did before we start adding alot of items. The system works but however you have good ideas. Thanks for the reply.

So, who did your inspection? My cousin is one of the State inspectors for Rockingham Cnty.

You should request someone other than him next time!
