Finally got my plasma table up and running today, was able to cut one thing out before I boogered up the tip on the torch, that was a learning experience though. Hopefully I'll be able to find some more electrodes for the torch tomorrow to get back up and running.

My first cut was a knife, it came out good, just used mild steel so it won't be good to 'use', but I hadn't really planned to use it anyways.

Any ideas for a handle? Since I don't actually plan to use the knife, function doesn't really matter. I thought about wrapping rope, or paracord or something around the handle, and leaving the section open in the center. Guess I could also make some out of wood.

Get the guy on here that makes the paracord bracelets to weaze you up something. I know when I restored an old bowie knife it had stack leather, I went to a shoe repair place and got 2 shoe soles and cut out the disc, cut the slot out in the center, slid it down the knife and epoxy the disc togethor. After that, I sanded and filed down to fit my hand contour. but I think the paracord look would be cool.

Leather 6 cord braid..

Couldn't find any more consumables locally, they are dirt cheap on EBAY though, but they will be coming from China so it will be a couple weeks, I may order some stateside if I can find them for a decent price. I was able to cut a couple more things before the electrode was melted so bad it wouldn't do anything though.

Both of these were cut out of stainless steel, the knife didn't cut out too smooth on the inside cut, and the serrated edge was horrible (kind of expected it would be), after I cleaned it up and hit the serrated edge with a file it looks halfway decent.

Since you got me thinking, I found a file for the brass knuckles, and for the knife, and mated them together. For some reason, it seems I remember having heard brass knuckles are illegal, is that true? I don't see why they would be any more dangerous than a knife or a gun so it wouldn't make sense for them to be illegal...

It would likely take some jiu jitszu type moves, lol, and being careful to not slice your own wrist open... That or put a bend in it between the knuckles/knife to give some 'arm' room. Could be bent opposite directions for left or right handed people. I won't know how comfortable it would feel until I make one though. Seriously though, not like anyone would ever USE a brass knuckle knife, haha.
