Financial Planner Recomendations

I'd like to start working with a financial planner/adviser to make improvements in my long term retirement savings.

I'm only interested to hear first hand recommendations. IE someone you are currently using and are happy with.

i use doug mclamb at davenport. http://www.investdavenport.com/ he's done a great job for me so far. he's also done my parents and my brother and his wife's stuff for years.

Mike, my wife Leslie, does that very thing with Ashby Cook Financial here in Greensboro. He is an old Jefferson Pilot securities agent now working independently. He is actually meeting with a client in Raleigh this Friday. He has had all my retirement funds, in mutual funds, for the 3 years I have been retired and as of Aug 1, before this last slump, I was looking at a 33% gain for the year 2007.
