Fire place insert blower motor help

The motor on my insert went out Sunday. The way it is wired now and how it's been since I got it is with a thermostat and a three way switch on-off-on ( using thermostat to turn on at certain temp. Off if it goes below). All I can find now is a motor that is three speed. My question is can I use the three speed with how it's set up now? Or do I have to use it as a three speed that I turn on and off?
