First step itaken in Rubicon Project

Clayton 4.5" lift kit. TRXUS MT 37x12.5 on 16 inch Cragar soft 8's.
two Master Craft Rubicon seats for the front.
Custom Cody Designed rear bumper with tire carrier. About $450 in materials and a case of beer for labor:D
Haven't decided which high clearance front bumper.
Waiting to see what Metal Cloak JK tube fenders are going to look like. Their TJ fenders are awesome.
Various other armor and skid plates.
When it is all done, I should go to Uwharrie, get it muddy then go to a mall and and park next to a Mawl Krawler for a picture :D

True. There is always something. Equipment failure is an excuse for upgrade.

I hope to get it to Uwharrie in the next week or so for the inaugural trip. Bone stock. no mods yet. But I gotta get it dirty. It will be a few months before I can do the lift. So I'm not waiting until then to get it dirty.
Not many of the guys from work can go this weekend and I know what an advantage it is to have two or more going. But i could always just stay away from Daniel if I am solo.

nice jeep... I would like something new but my wife would have a heart attack when i took it to the woods.

Ha Ha. My wife has her new Jeep Patriot that stays clean. That way I can get mine dirty.

Hey if you haven't yet bought your shoes for it, and would consider using some 17" wheels, I am looking to upgrade my 37x12.50R17 BFG KM2's to some 40" KM2's... I bought my 5 at a deal 500 miles ago, and after some poser pics and flexing them in the yard, (no maiden wheeling voyage yet with these tires) I have really started craving the 40" flavor. Just a thought for ya. -Brandon.

I am going with TRXUS MT's. Can't beat them for wet traction and they are pretty quiet for a MT. Makes them very good for a DD without giving up off road performance.

Good call. I love my TRXUS MT's. Nice looking Jeep. HUrry up and get some dirty pics

Yeah, those TRXUS's are are pretty sweet. COOL.

I've never had a jeep under warranty but you should check with your local dealers about how they deal with mods. I'd hope they are more friendly here seeing so many lifted jeeps and trucks. Heck there are toyota & chevy dealers near my house who sell trucks brand new with aftermarket lifts.

With the cost cutting all the time probably better safe then sorry about asking the service departments manger before doing mods on one that you still have warranty on though.

A friend sucked water in Uwharrie. Hydro-locked his motor. Not covered by warranty. But covered by insurance.
I can add coverage through my insurance as well to cover EOM parts that aren't covered by the warranty. Cost about $10/month more. I can add it up to 12 months after purchase.
Dealer does do kit installs. But it will cost a bloody fortune in labor to have them do it.
Besides, I don't want to wait 5 years to modify it. I'll just keep a near empty credit card just in case.
Besides, it is a lot easier getting stuff off before life happens to it. :D
