So the '98 ZJ I bought a couple of months ago is virtually blemish free inside and out except for the dash and door panel pads.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the dash pad?

the top layer has separated from the pad and then soft touch top layer has split. I'd rather not rip out the dash if at all possible. Ideas? I'll even entertain creative ideas.

Buy a glue-on plastic dash cover and move on?
More trouble than it's worth IMO

Spray some adhesive under it, then take a can of Dust Off, turn it upside down, and spray the frozen liquid out onto it so that the top layer flash contracts and then sticks to the glue. My asstoot engineering judgement says theres a 15% chance it will kinda work...

Or - just fill that whole bowl (and the crack) with resin so it's flat. Sand it nice and smooth, paint it all perdy.

Better yet - use a clear resin, fill it all the way up and while it's curing, drop a plastic fish in it

Fill it up with M&Ms, they you can have a snack while you drive.
Small marbles, then lay a clear sheet of acrylic over it. Enjoy the sound of them rolling around every time you do a corner.
