Getting ready to flat belly my 85 Toyota with 22re engine and was wondering what type of mounts people have had good service out of, stock or poly motor mounts and solid or polt t-case mounts. I plan on using a Frontrange style t-case bracket with my own crossmember. Any info will be appreciated.

If you look up the Toyota Bible from Pirate4x4 they have a lot of info about flatbellies, mounts, etc. Also a lot of useful pics that you can design off of.

Best results, I have seen, with a flatbelly crossmember like you are describing is to run two poly mounts off of the back of the Tcase with 2 more (one on each side) at the frame ends. Chain the motor mounts and roll. If you feel like spending the extra money then some poly motor mounts aren't a bad idea, just not totally necessary.

Other guys I have seen just weld that backing plate off the back of the Tcase directly to a piece of tube and then just have a poly mount at each end where it joins to the frame. Worked fine, I just feel like a solid mount right there would end up tearing bolts out of the TCase eventually.

Yeah i have read almost everything on pirate but cant find a definate answer on mounts. I have been running a frontrange crossmember with poly mounts for a few years, no complaints just want to go higher.
