I had talked to a guy some time last year who said he might be able to make me some flat Toyota steering arms. Its been a long year for me and for the life of me I can't remember who it was I talked with.

Basically I need a flat piece of steel ~1" thick drilled properly with the Toyota arm pattern (probably do the 6 shooter pattern).

I'm not worried about the tapered inserts, I'll run a standard taper lug nut.

Wonder if some 6061 plate would be strong enough?

Ideas??

I would not make them from 6061. Trail gear claims that their six shooter arms are made from forged 8620 steel.

Any (good) machine shop should be able to do this for you

I have a mavhine shop next door to me that can do it. I have no idea what he would charge but I know he would want the knuckle there to build the arms.

I've been thinking I want a set of flat steering arms for my Toy axle that will be going under my Samurai. I have not been able to find anybody that makes them though. All the 'high steer' arms that I have found on the internet are 'raised up' in the TRE/DLE location. I am guessing that this is to clear leaf spring packs. I don't think I am really ready to buy any yet, but am just planning my build.
