Have a TunerFX seat on the passenger side, now my backside needs something more than the stocker. I'm kind of "meh" on the TunerFX one, but it's one of few that have a nice steep fold to it for rear access. Just happened across it at a good deal.

Any opinion on decent seat that folds forward... but isn't too tall? not alot of headroom in there.

How much are you looking to spend? I know that mastercraft makes a very nice adjustable seat, corbeau makes one as well. Otherwise you can buy a normal fixed seat and then get or build some flip forward mounts if that's all you're looking to do.

Otherwise, hit the junkyard. Find something with 2 doors so that they are flip forward seats. I paid less than $100 for these two sunfire seats many years ago. It was a pain getting the old brackets off and mounting them...but I was 16 and only had a grinder and hand drill. They're very comfortable and hold you really well. Any "sports car" seat works great.

(very old photo as well. :flipoff2: )

Don't mind spending decent $$ if it's a good seat, but holy cow $1000 is a bit much. I already have one in the pass. side, so really only need 1, although I guess I could just sell teh existing one (only been used for one trip).
Looked into making a flip-forward rack, but the problem is there isn't much headroom/space for the whole seat to flip like that in a 4Runner due to the roof/windshield layout.

get the base for a 78-96 ford bronco passenger side seat. or the same thing for an 84-90 Bronco II. they both flip forward, they are hinges at the front so they allow enough room to squeeze into the back.

they also make the seat sit high; 4runner has low headroom. not sure they would clear the ceiling when flipping forward

yeah the broncoII might sit too high.

the 78-79 might work though. i'll check mine tonite to see how high they sit.
