I'm hoping to rebuild my drivetrain this weekend with a flipped D300. Its already geared 4:1, assembled & ready for twin sticks. My question is: is there a way to add a breather tube on the 'top-side' without taking it back apart? I've seen some pics of D300s with a new breather connected to the original one to serve as a inspection point for oil levels. Any ideas/suggestions/pics?

TIA,
Brandon

You can put one in the top side of the tail housing, and all you have to do is pull the tail housing. If you are careful, you could probably do it just by pulling the speedo gear and putting a vacuum to it to catch chips. I did mine with a 1/8"NPT fitting. Just drill, tap, and install.
