So found a 94 big block burb that was in a flood has 192k on it but seems clean despite flood damage! Fella says engine runs but what's possibilities of this being a total rebuild? Also has a 14ff I need and the ifs front that's all 4.10 like I already have! Should I jump on this burb for a 1000?? From what I've read it has everything I need to swap the 454 into my 350 3/4 ton!?? But what possibilities of the flood damaging axles trans engine?? Any input on flood damaged rides is appreciated

Change the oils/fluids, don't plan to use and carpet/upholstery, and don't use any of the flooded electronics.

Ok he said water came to dash pad wasn't specific! So I'd need a pcm for the 454 if it was under the water line?? I'm just now lookin into this swap so I dunno if I gotta swap wire harness completely or just computers..

Was gonnna scrap rest of burb no interior stuff needed may swap tailgate out with my barn doors also if It's easily done!?

Do you know how long it sat before fluids were changed? If it was immediately, the mechanicals should be fine. If any sort of time passed, I'd write it all off as junk.

I’m guessing it’s a tbi and not a vortec ? The difference between the tbi 5.7 and vortec 5.7 is huge. If same holds true for big blocks I would be looking for the vortec 7.4

Mechanically speaking...it’s a gamble. I’d soak everything in ATF, make sure everything moves by hand first. If nothing appears seized, the hard parts ***should*** be ok, but probably compromised. New gaskets and seals...drop it in, run it with a quart or two of ATF for 500-1000 Miles. As others have said, I wouldn’t trust any electronics and would replace them.

Shit that's right it is friggin tbi... thanks I had a brain fart for sure!!! I forgot I had a vortec in this burb! Long day at work lol

I'm gonna pass on it! gonna keep eye out for a wrecked one Locally or at pick and pull! Thanks for reminding me I needed a 96-99 7.4!
