Any suggestions on which series Flowmaster sounds best on a 4.0 inline 6cyl 2001 Cherokee Sport. Have single in and wanting to go duals out. Thank you.

My buddy has a series 40 on his 4.0l TJ. I think it sounds pretty good. Rumbly and a bit raspy but not too loud.

You know this is almost like asking what ice cream flavor tastes best.lol

why duals? like the looks?

also curious why you would want duals. It's not going to improve the performance, and if you wheel it, it's just another exhaust pipe to get bent up on rocks. If it's just for looks..whatever floats your boat. If it's searching for the v8 sound, the 4.0 will never sound like a v8 regardless of exhaust. That said, I run a super 44 on my 4.0 and I am really happy with it. Doesn't sound like a v8, but it sounds better than stock without being obnoxious

I have a 40 on my XJ along with 2-1/2" pipe. I've been told by several people mine sounds good.
^^ his sounds good. mines louder :fuck-you: but i have a glasspack.

Meh, not a fan of flowmasters on the 4.0 at all, sounds tinny, drones, and pops too much. Something like a dynomax or magnaflow gives a much more refined and smooth sound with no drone, but is still nice and deep. I second the forget the duals idea as well.

Another vote for a non-chambered muffler. Took a Flowmaster 40 series off my XJ and put on a Magnaflow bullet muffler. It's a little loud inside since I don't have a cat on it, plus it is dumped just over the axle but it sounds nice and deep.

Extend the pipe back a little farther with a turndown just before the rear bumper and all that interior drone would go away. Dumped exhaust on an SUV, no thanks.
