Ok I have a 74 Sierra I bought from a friend. I was just gonna use the engine...but...I started looking at the buggies here and got more interested. Mostly had questions about the tubing. Whats the best size (diameter, schedule, material...) and the best way to place it, and would the vehicle still be street legal..or is there a limit to the mods on the truck that would prevent that..(in case I want to drive to the local trails). Any suggestions? Feel free to lay em on me...good bad...equipment...toss this..keep that...anything....thanks

Easiest way to keep it street legal is to have a donor frame with a title, be it a jeep or whatever, then just keep lights and such on it. Put in a motor that is newr than the one in it and all the emmissions stuff. (Unless it's a '72 or older donor). Then it doesn't need a state inspection.

1.75 .120 DOM tube is what most of mine is, with 1.5" .120 in the non-critical areas.

You won't find many buggies driving to the trails. If you're wheeling hard enough to want/need a buggy, there's a good chance you'll need to trailer it back home.
