There is an article about offroading at Uwharrie in the March 2020 issue of Our State magazine.

Some parts are good (and reasonably correct), some parts are odd as you would expect. Pictured vehicles include a Rubicon, Land Cruiser, and Land Rover. Ride was led by "I4WDTA" and "Overland Experts", and was part of the "American Adventurist Appalachian Rendesvous". Some trail names were from UNF, some mentioned I've never heard, so must have been at the training center.

Anyway, if you see a copy, it's worth a look and/or giggle.

The elusive Uwharrie model Wrangler omgz!

The article was written exactly like what you would expect a desk jockey to write when they are told they have to cover an outdoor assignment.

Also read it at the breakfast table.....was definitely a skewed point of view. I do agree,it was a good positive article. We could use a lot more of it.

I remember the Observer doing one, & 1 or 2 others from around Raleigh. CTB even tried to get a Congressman, to do a ride with us. Don't remember that it ever panned out. Some of the Media articles, didn't help the cause!
