Ford 6.0 charging question

I would assume it would be the same as any other vehicle 13-15 volts depending on load. I know my Duramax would sit at ~12.6v after cranking, and after about 30 seconds of idling I guess the battery isolator would switch over and it would jump up to 14 and stay.

After the glow plugs turn off (up to 2 minutes after you start the engine), the voltage on mine is between 13.5 and 14 on my aftermarket gauge depending on weather the headlights, heater blower, etc. are turned on. While the glow plugs are on you may only see 11.5 to 12.6 volts since the glowplugs can pull more current than the alternator can put out

Well last week I had some issues so I just slapped in two new battery and yesterday went to fire her up and it cranked but about 1 min into idle the abs light came on I shut it down and nothing wouldn't even try to turn over so tonight I guess I'm putting a new alternator on. After I installed the new batterys the voltage reading was 12.5 so I figured everything was to par I guess not lol well time to hit the snow and slap this baby in

Yea, the 6.0s are rough on alternators too. Ive replaced mine and one of my friends alternators. Its real simple though about a 15 minute job. If you search you can get instructions on how to pull the belt off with no tools on some of the diesel sites.
