a Ford C-350 (Centurion)

Have I just not been paying attention, or did/does Ford not make many of them? do they still make them?

i have seen a few of these, i always figured they were custom conversions by some other company? have you just tried googling it? i would bet there is a lot of info out there

ya, I tried Googling.. not much out there on them. What comes up most is the Mercedes C350... even when putting "Ford" in the search.

Basically I get one site that has anything about the Ford C-350.

Personally, I dig 'em.

try F-350 Centurion which was a custom coversion using Broncos and crew cab trucks.

what kevin said... they were a custom conversion by centurion. pretty sure it was a factory backed thing, and they were sold through ford dealers (like conversion vans).

pretty cool trucks. i used to see one a lot around raleigh, but haven't in a while.

i'll bet saftscissors could shed some additional light...

an excursion is not the same thing as the centurion. and you can remove the top.

There is one for sale in the Clayton area. Ive seen it runnin around a few times.

www.fourdoorbronco.com for all the Centurian information. They got the chassis and parts direct from Ford and put the bronco rear on it. Watch for rust in the roof patch and the rear door posts, and in the normal bronco areas like rear fender wells, and lower panel on the tailgate.

Last year was 1997. Then the Excursion/Expedition hit and there was no more need. They still do truck and van conversions.

The last year was actually 1996, the last year broncos were produced by ford. Centurion is actually out of business sold off to Starcraft a few years back.

They didn't get a chassis and parts from Ford. You paid for an actual crew cab truck and a bronco, then centurion performed the conversion and sold them to the Ford dealers like the choochoo customs and other conversions available at the dealerships. Having to buy two brand new vehicles essentially made for an expensive sticker price. Most of my trucks were over 50k off the lot.

Ford never made them, but they payed attention to market demand. When sales skyrocketed in larger four door vehicles you suddenly see Ford tinkering with a four door prototype and next thing you know they release the Excursion.

Yep I know its an old thread, just wanted to hopefully get good information out there and answer any questions anyone might have about these.
